Parent Leadership Academy - Virtual
Families, we know that moving from a traditional school setting to distance learning has not been easy, especially for parents. And we recognize the importance of parental support for our student’s academic and social/emotional wellbeing. We want to support our parents in this new world of distance learning.
As a result, we have a new program to offer parents called Virtual Parent Leadership Academy (VPLA).
This is a series of 4 online workshops where you will meet virtually with other parents to learn and discuss the following topics.
- Family Engagement in a Virtual World
- Supporting Students through Distance Learning
- Technology and Distance Learning Platforms
- Mental Health in our Current Reality
This is a program in collaboration with other schools in our district. The classes are virtual and 1 ½ hour long online. This class will be presented in English. There will be computer support for parents.
You can choose to attend Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10:00–11:30am. OR 5:30pm–7:00pm starting on Thursday, September 24, 2020.
Space is limited to 30 parents. First come, first served basis.
Mindfulness Parent Training (Virtual) classes available!
Parents this will be a virtual training that can be done from the comfort of your own home. Offered Mondays, October 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Mindfulness can be a tool to help keep calm through these challenging times. Here's the definition of it: a mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts.
Many of our parents have really enjoyed attending!
Internet Reimbursement for City of Anaheim
Anaheim to offer rebate for internet access! Starting next month, Anaheim residents can get help with their internet costs thanks to a new rebate program approved by the Anaheim City Council on Tuesday. Click Here for Details
PSAT Cancelled!
Don’t forget SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS! The PSAT has been canceled for October. The district however is considering offering a date in January, so be on the lookout for any information regarding new testing dates over the next few months.

Student absences need to be called into our Attendance Office. Students/Families should not contact the teacher about absences.

- Monday, September 21 Magnolia High School. Registration will open tomorrow (9/18) at 10AM
- Tuesday, September 22 Betsy Ross Elementary. Registration will open tomorrow (9/18) at 10AM
- Friday, September 25th Anaheim High School. Registration will open Tuesday (9/22) September 22th at 10AM.
Other News
- Remember if your student is having difficulties connecting to a class, please email the teacher for help. The second contact would be your student’s counselor.
- Students must log on to 2nd period on Tuesday and Thursday for attendance to be taken. They must also log in to each class where there will find a short assignment which will count as attendance once the assignment is submitted. These assignments must be submitted by 2:00 pm.
- Chromebooks and hotspots are still available, once you complete the technology survey, the next day you can go to Kennedy, just outside the attendance office.
