Hours:
The library is open every school day at 7:00 AM. Monday through Friday, and the library closes at 3:30 PM.
Checkout procedures:
Students must have a valid, current student ID card with their picture
in order to check out materials. There are no limitations of the number
of books a student can check out. Regular books are available for three
weeks, or fifteen school days. School holidays and weekend days do not
count. Some magazines and/or reference books can be checked out
overnight.
Fines:
Books and other materials kept longer than the fifteen school-day
period will accrue a fine of 10 cents per school day, up to the price
of the book. Fine notices will be distri-buted to all English teachers,
who in turn distribute them to the appropriate students. Do not check
out books for your friends! If you do, you will be held responsible for
the book, not your friend.
Computers:
In order to use the twenty computers that have access to the Internet,
students must have on file in the library a signed Internet permission
form giving parental permission. Student ID cards have a designation on
them denoting approval to use the Internet. Computers are to be used
for school-related work only! Checking personal e-mail during lunch,
playing games or chatting in chatrooms at anytime are not acceptable
uses. Students who misuse the computers will be asked to leave. A
second violation may result in students losing all computer privileges
in the library. Such students will have their ID cards punched thus
showing that computer access is denied.
Printing and copying:
A copy machine is available for student use on the east wall of the
library near the nonfiction section. Black and white copies cost 10
cents per copy. The laser printer is networked to all computers in the
library. The cost of copies varies as to how much ink is used.
Typically a double spaced word process page will cost 10 cents, and a
full page of graphics will have a 75 cents charge
.
